Urijah Faber is about as cool and beloved as they come in the sport of MMA. Sufer Dude looks, great hair, unlimited cardio coupled with arguably the nastiest guillotine choke the sport has seen. On this day even though the host hotel was in New Jersey, Urijah spent the night before and the day of his UFC debut in a suite at the W Hotel in NY.

I arrived about 15 minutes before the woman who was going to be doing his corn rows and the vibe couldn’t have been any better. Urijah ordered 3 fruit plates, plenty of water, a few packs of Snack Masters Spicy Turkey Jerky were on deck and Urijah took a seat in the middle of the room and the hair stylist got to work.

The calmness he had was nice but odd for me as I had never documented anyones UFC debut before. Most fighters have nerves and are antsy but for him it was another day at the office.

Urijah won his debut at UFC 128 against Eddie Wineland by unanimous decision and continued to have a storied career in the UFC.

This is a Limited Edition Giclée on cotton fiber paper.

The photographer, Eric Williams, signed the artwork in the presence of a Notary Public.
